What is tarot?

Many people I have come across confuse tarot with astrology or as "parrot reading". It is neither. Tarot is a medium of fortune telling and a means of divination. It is a set of 78 cards, each card representing different symbolic pictures. The cards tell a story which will give you an insight into your past, present and future.

The tarot deck usually comprises 78 cards divided into major arcana cards and minor arcana cards. There are 22 major arcanas and 56 minor aracanas. The major arcanas represent a deciding big event in your life which usually will happen and cannot be altered whereas the minor arcana cards as the name suggests, indicate an event which can be changed in due course on account of your actions in relation to a particular matter.
